With Public Health Orders extending once again with no end date in sight, it’s time to shake up those Zoom calls. While you may not be able to go over to your friend’s houses, you can definitely have some creative and fun online hangs!
1. Bob Ross Tutorials
Bob Ross was the go-to for art tutorials back in the day. Luckily for us, you can find lots of his tutorials on Youtube. All you need is a canvas of sorts and some paints and one of his amazing tutorials and you’re ready to go! You can create absolutely beautiful pieces and compare with your friends.
2. Cake Night!
Get all of your friends together on Zoom and make a cake. It can just be a box mix cake – the real fun comes in with the decor! Buy some decorations like chocolate, shredded coconut, sprinkles, fruit – go nuts! Then have a competition where you all get to decide who has the most beautiful cake.
3. Script Reads
If you’re into acting, this is the one for you! There are so many scripts out there from sites like https://proplay.ws/, or you can often just look up a show you’re interested in and find PDFs. Pick a play you’ve always wanted to see, or a movie you love and act it out. This is a great way to spend an evening with your friends instead of just watching a movie online!
4. Online Games
Online Pictionary
Skribbl.io is a free Pictionary based game where you’re given a prompt and all of your friends have to guess what you’re drawing! They get points for guessing quickly and correctly, and you get points for getting them to guess. It’s a fast paced game that is just super fun and funny!
A Fake Artist Goes To New York
A hidden role game – everyone is given a prompt (like Giraffe or Hamburger) and takes turns adding one stroke to an image to draw the prompt. Here’s the catch – one person was never given the prompt. Their goal is to figure out what the word is before someone figures out it’s them. If someone realizes who the fake artist is and the fake artist does not get the word correct, they lose!
