Advanced Placement

The Advanced Placement (AP) program makes college and university courses available for students to take while they're still in secondary school. Courses offered in this program are administered by the College Board which is recognized for advanced credit or placement in many Canadian and American universities and colleges.

We offer:

2D Art and Design

  • Investigating the materials, processes, and ideas that artists and designers use.
  • Practicing, experimenting, and revising as you create your own work.
  • Communicating your ideas about works of art and design

Calculus AB

  • Determining expressions and values using mathematical procedures and rules.
  • Connecting representations.
  • Justifying reasoning and solutions.
  • Using correct notation, language, and mathematical conventions to communicate results or solutions.

Calculus BC

  • Determining expressions and values using mathematical procedures and rules.
  • Connecting representations.
  • Justifying reasoning and solutions.

Physics 1

  • Interpreting and describing representations and models.
  • Using mathematics to solve science problems.
  • Formulating a scientific question or hypothesis.
  • Designing an experiment to answer a scientific question or to test a hypothesis.
  • Analyzing data and evaluating evidence.
  • Working with scientific explanations and theories.
  • Making connections.

  • Registration

    To register for a Summer School course, you will require a PEN (Personal Education Number) and birth date. Please ensure you have this information prior to the opening day of registration. The PEN is a unique 9-digit number issued to every student enrolled in a BC school and can be found on each student’s progress report. If you do not have this information, please request it from your home school.
